Not surprisingly, the claim has generated millions of views, comments, and shares across social media platforms.
But when researchers and fact-checkers examined the story, they discovered a major problem.

The answer led back to the Dunning-Kruger Times, a website associated with the “America’s Last Line of Defense” network.
The network openly describes its content as satire, parody, and fictional entertainment.
In fact, the website explicitly states that its stories should not be considered factual news reporting.
The “Obamacare royalties” story was originally published as satire before eventually being shared by people who either missed or ignored the disclaimer.
