Sometimes it simply waits to be rediscovered.
Final Thoughts
Being told I’d “let myself go” hurt more than I can describe.
But looking back, I realize something important.
I hadn’t lost myself.
I’d simply forgotten to make room for myself while caring for everyone else.
When my marriage ended, I didn’t just rebuild my life.
I finally built one that reflected who I truly was.
And when my past came knocking, hoping to reclaim what it had abandoned, I realized the greatest act of healing wasn’t opening the door.
It was knowing when to close it with gratitude for how far I’d come.
