Lucy Davis spent nearly a year and a half quietly facing a devastating diagnosis before deciding to tell the world what she has been going through.
The beloved actress, known to fans as Dawn Tinsley from the original British version of The Office and for her role in Shaun of the Dead, has revealed that she is living with Stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her spine, right hip and ribs.
At 53, Davis says doctors have told her the cancer is incurable and that chemotherapy is no longer an option.
āThe cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo,ā she shared on Instagram.
Yet rather than allowing the diagnosis to define her, Davis has chosen to speak openly about what she has learned, the importance of finding humor in difficult moments and her determination to keep enjoying the life she has.
