Joanna closed the letter on her chest.
He was crying without stopping.
The dr. Wright didn’t try to interrupt her.

After several minutes, she looked up.
“Where is he?”
The doctor did not answer immediately.
He squeezed his lips.
And finally he whispered:
“He didn’t die.”
Joanna felt her heart stop.
“What did you say?”
“Logan is alive.”
The room froze.
“Two months ago a donor appeared for an experimental treatment.”
The doctor continued with tears in his eyes.
“The transplant worked… but the complications were serious.”
Joanna couldn’t breathe.
“Why… why didn’t he come?”
Robert closed his eyes.
“Because he thought it was too late.”
“He thought you had already rebuilt your life.”
She started crying even more.
“Not a day has passed without loving him.”
The doctor smiled in his tears.
He took off his cell phone.
Enter a number.
The call was connected.
“Logan…”
On the other hand, a weak voice was heard.
“Daddy?”
Robert looked at Joanna.
“There’s someone who wants to talk to you.”
He gave her the phone.
Her hands were shaking.
“Logan…”
For a few seconds, nothing was heard.
Then…
A sobbing.
“Joanna… forgive me…”
Joanna closed her eyes.
Look at their baby.
And whispered with tears of joy:
“Turn home, your son is waiting for you.”
On the other end of the line, Logan was crying in silence.
For the first time in seven months…
